Introduction

The community of people seeking to advance work towards open and interoperable AR will meet on October 24-25 in conjunction with the ISMAR2011 conference in Basel, Switzerland.

Those planning to participate in the AR Standards community meeting should review the documentation of the first meeting,  second meeting and third meeting. Review of the past position papers and joining the mailing lists for the community are highly recommended.

Position Papers

In addition to the invited speaker presentations and moderated plenary collaborations, contributions to the community may be made in advance of the meeting in the form of position papers. To submit position papers, please follow the guidelines.  Consideration will be given to these by the program committee when preparing the final agenda.

Meeting Goals

The face-to-face meetings are designed to promote the discussion between stakeholders of the ecosystem for the development of open and interoperable AR content and experiences. We will: 

The community is invited to suggest topics for the agenda via submission of position papers. Additional objectives for this meeting will be formulated by the Program Committee members and co-chairs of the meeting. 

To Participate in the Meeting of International AR Standards Experts

This is an open meeting, however, advanced registration via this Web form is required.
If you are unable to participate, we may have a Ustream channel available.

Registration and Fees

There is a registration fee of 150 CHF per person for participation in the International AR Standards Meeting to cover refreshments and lunch on Oct 24 and 25.  Pre-payment is accepted via Amiando (PayPal or Credit Cards) on this form.

If a prospective participant does not have the financial resources to cover the registration fee, a petition for fee waiver, including in-kind services or contribution to the successful meeting the petitioner wishes to offer, should be sent via e-mail to Christine Perey, co-chair.

Participants are required to pay for their own lodging and local transportation.

Basel is conveniently located at the point where Germany, Switzerland and France meet. It is easily reached by rail (one hour from Zurich) and by air. Flights to the EuroAirport of Basel come from most major European cities.
 
We have not reserved any hotel rooms for community members, however, you may easily search for lodging on the Basel Tourism web site.
