To submit position papers, please follow the guidelines on this page. Consideration will be given to these by the program committee when preparing the final agenda.
Meeting Goals
The face-to-face meetings are designed to promote the discussion between stakeholders of the ecosystem for the development of open and interoperable AR content and experiences. During the two day meeting, we will work side by side with AR industry leaders and SDO Work Group chairs to:
- learn the status of activities and discuss progress in all relevant standards development organizations, including
- continue development of the community resources including but not limited to:
- the AR Reference Model
- AR Standards landscape and status of what each SDO we are tracking is doing in the area of AR
- Hands-free display and context capture system requirements and standards and
- AR Interoperability requirements, experimental methodology and testing procedures
- initiate development of new community resources, as needed, and
- discuss emerging challenges which may be addressed via standards or open source interfaces.
Augmented Reality developers encountering obstacles to audience reach and end user adoption as a result of proprietary technology "silos" are also encouraged to attend in order to learn about the open specifications and APIs under development, and to provide their opinions. AR developers participating in the community are on the front lines to learn about and influence the direction of new tools.
All community members are invited to suggest topics for the agenda via submission of position papers.
